The Redline Cup
Weekend on July 22nd and 23rd was a fun filled, competitive
weekend, despite a little rain on Friday night. Ben Dupelle was
the lucky rider who took home the Redline Cruiser bike, donated by (of
course) Redline -
we've
taken to calling him "Lucky Ben," as he also won the bike at the Race for
Life! Redline is extremely generous with their
sponsorship of the Redline cup, year after year, and their support of
the riders at Whip City BMX! Click on their logo above to check out
their awesome website!! And Balise Auto was a great partner in
getting the word out about the Redline Cup weekend! Both the
Cruiser for the rider's raffle and Jared's bike (see below) were on
display at Balise Honda on Riverdale Road in West Springfield to promote
this event. Check out these pictures of the bikes proudly on
display:

Bob Balise from Balise Honda (better known as "Stager
Bob") also
presented Aaron Robbins with a winter jacket during the Redline Cup
event, in appreciation of his once again excellent job at collecting
donations for the Race for Life.

Redline went even one step further in their ongoing support of BMX
riders during the Redline Cup weekend. Remember Jared
Grabowski? He is the 13 year old Leukemia survivor who was glad to
be a part of our Race for Life in May, a true representation of the Race
for Life. Watching the racing action during the Race for Life
sparked an interest in Jared. We were all happy to see him back at
the track to sign up to race a few weeks later. When Redline found
out about Jared's amazing story, they wanted to help. Redline did
what they do best...they provided a complete 20" bike for him.
Mike Hogan presented the bike to Jared, on behalf of Redline, at the
start of the Redline Cup weekend. From these pictures, you can see
that he can't wait to rip it up on his new wheels!! Thanks Jared,
for being such an inspiration, and a huge thank you to the folks at
Redline - you both represent the true spirit of BMX!!!!
